After Chainsaw Man season 1, start at chapter 38 in volume 5 for an overlapping transition. Chapter 39 moves beyond the chapter reached by the TV finale.

What overlaps or changes?
Our recommendation deliberately repeats chapter 38 at the screen-to-page handoff. If you only want to advance beyond the reported season endpoint, start at 39. Both are in volume 5.
Should you start from chapter 1?
A chapter 1 restart lets you experience Fujimoto’s panel timing and compare the adaptation from the beginning. For continuing the plot, use the short overlap at chapter 38 instead.
