When the Violets Bloom

Synopsis

On a devastated Earth, the remnants of humanity dwell within the suffocating depths of underground bunkers, desperately preparing for a mass migration to a parallel universe. Subin, a dedicated warp researcher, finds his only solace in his lover, Kihyeok. Upon returning from a perilous surface expedition, Kihyeok presents him with an impossible gift: a living, blooming violet. "It's a miracle, Subin! The Earth might finally be breathing again!" he exclaims, his eyes shining with newfound hope. It is Kihyeok's vibrant stories of the outside world that sustain Subin's spirit in the dim, gray halls of the bunker; for Subin, this man is his solitary light and his only source of true happiness in a dying world.

However, his fragile peace is shattered when Kihyeok's fellow soldiers arrive at the laboratory with grim expressions. They deliver a bolt from the blue—news so devastating it threatens to unravel everything Subin believed about their future and his lover's survival.
